   New for 1999: The Chevrolet
Express remains basically unchanged for the 1999 model year.
   History: Chevy's full-size
passenger van got a new name when it debuted in 1996. The
Express  replaced a model first introduced back in 1970, and is available
in three series, based on  gross weight rating and passenger capacity:
G1500, G2500 and G3500. Express offers  comfort and convenience features
to rival any car, and is available in standard and  long-wheelbase
extended trims. Chevy feels the extended trim in particular will appeal
to  shuttle operators and large families with its class-leading interior
volume and seating for up to  15. Express can also be equipped to
tow up to 10,000 pounds, making it a popular choice for  owners of
boats, race cars, snowmobiles, and other adult "toys" that require trailering.
   Trim Details: The 1999
Chevrolet Express full-size van is available in five trims: G1500,
   G2500, G2500 Extended, G3500
and G3500 Extended. Safety features include dual airbags,
   an anti-lock brake system (ABS),
daytime running lights and child safety locks. Numerous
   engines from the Vortec line
are available, ranging from the standard 4.3-liter 200-horsepower
   V6 to the optional 7.4-liter
290-horsepower V8. Standard features include a 4-speed automatic
   transmission, tinted glass,
intermittent wipers, air conditioning and an AM/FM stereo. Options
   include several upgraded stereo
systems, a tilt steering wheel and remote keyless entry. |
