New for 1999: The C/K 3500 remains
primarily unchanged for 1999, with the exception of a
short-bed Crew Cab trim added to the
lineup.
History: Runner-up in America's
new-vehicle sales race for the last 16 years has
been the
Chevy C/K-series truck. The C/K 3500
is a serious truck for serious towing and hauling: gross
weight ratings top out at 10,000 pounds;
trailer weights also up to 10,000 pounds can be
accommodated with proper equipment.
Engine choices are V8s fueled by gasoline or diesel.
The C/K 3500 is available in regular,
extended, and 4-door Crew Cab models, and can be
ordered with dual rear wheels.
Trim Details: The 1999 Chevrolet
C/K 3500 pickup is available in eight trims: Regular Cab,
Extended Cab, Crew Cab Short Bed,
and Crew Cab Long Bed, each in either 2WD or 4WD.
The C/K 3500 has an anti-lock brake
system (ABS) and daytime running lights as standard
safety equipment. Power comes from
a standard 5.7-liter 255-horsepower V8 engine teamed
with a 5-speed manual transmission.
A 7.4-liter 290-horsepower V8 or a high-torque 6.5-liter
turbodiesel V8 are also available.
Standard features include a theft-deterrent system, tinted
glass, 10-inch rearview mirrors, a
trailer-wiring harness, an AM/FM stereo, and Scotchgard
seat protection. |
